This is Tamen, one of our many Ibizan Hounds. Along with the crafts, we have shown and bred both Ibizan Hounds and (shown only) Italian Greyhounds, although we are not active in breeding or showing at the moment.

This is Tamen's story that I would like to share. Tamen started having seizures when he was around 2yrs old. He was diagnosed with what is termed 'idiopathic' epilepsy, meaning no known cause. Most dog breeders feel epilepsy is genetic, but I feel there are other things as the culprit like environmental factors and toxins pumped into the body like those used as adjuvants in vaccines, for more info on this please see here.

Tamen almost lost his life to the seizures at just over 3yrs old on Jan 8th when he began 5 days of non stop seizures. They started out every 5-6hrs with him recovering usually inbetween seizures. As the days passed his seizures got closer and closer together and he stopped 'coming around' inbetween seizures. By Jan 11th (day 4) he was seizing every hour almost right on the hour. As day 4 was turing into day 5 (in the middle of the night) several friends called me to give ideas on how to stop his seizures as well as moral support as my hubby and I had made a decision to end Tamen's suffering sometime on the 12th. We just could not bear to watch him suffer any longer as most of the night he was then having seizures every 10mins.

It finally occured to me that there was 1 avenue we had not yet tried (his vet clinic said we had given him all the medication we could, I took that as they expected me to watch him die). At 5am on the 12th, hours before we were going to put him to sleep, I made a call to my homeopathic consultant. Frantically I explained to her Tamen's situation. She listened to me explain his seizures and how he was acting, what his seizure activity looked like ect. The remedy she felt that best suited his symptoms happened to be a remedy I had on hand (THANK GOD!) and I gave him the dose as advised. That 1 homeopathic remedy dose STOPPED his seizures and he has not had a seizure since!

Tamen has been a totally different dog since his homeopathic remedy. His seizures will most likely never be cured, but we now know something that will help him quickly get over the seizures and back to himself. We are a FIRM believer in homeopathy and alternative treatments. We are indebted to our homeopathic consultant for giving us back our precious boy. Tamen's story DOES have a happy ending.
